Rancho Ebenezer is WGO’s 80 acre site about one hour out of Tegucigalpa in the mountains, housing, caring for, and educating formerly abused and abandoned children. Our missionaries, teachers and staff are dedicated to raising these children to know and love the Lord. The Serve Team’s work includes maintenance and improvement projects around the Ranch. Some teams will also serve the people in the local mountain community.
Ranch Serve Teams are the picture of flexibility and missions. These teams can be involved in a spectrum of projects from construction projects to children’s outreach. The focus of the work is to show the Hondurans the love of Christ, improve their physical environment or sometimes just to give a “cup of cold water.” When we host a team at Rancho Ebenezer, we work hard to find unique opportunities for service that specifically fit the gifts of a team.
These projects could include fixing a roof for a family that doesn’t have the means to do it themselves, or making a concrete floor for a family that desperately wants to keep their children healthier and safe from parasites.
Serve teams consist of up to 25 people who stay for one week. Construction skills are helpful, but not a requirement. Projects will be tailored to the talents of the team. Team members are informed of needed supplies and tools to bring with them in advance of their trip.
Team members stay at Rancho Ebenezer. WGO’s full time kitchen staff prepares and serves buffet-style meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Accommodations are clean with spacious common areas for dining, meetings, relaxing and fellowship. Sleeping arrangements are comfortable with bunk beds in the men’s and women’s bedrooms. Bathrooms have hot and cold water, showers and toilet facilities.
Teams come year round. If you have a group interested in serving together, WGO will assign you to a mutually available week. If you would like to come as an individual, WGO will find a team on a week that you are available.
